If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing place for your holiday without leaving the United Kingdom, Lytham St Annes is definitely worth a look. It’s located just south of Blackpool and has much to offer its visitors.
Lytham got its start around 600 BC. While originally a fishing and shrimping based economy tourism helped to make it what it is today. Now it’s a lovely resort community with many family-owned businesses.
St Annes was a planned town officially founded in March 1875. The town was made to attract visitors from the mill towns to its east. The historical feel of the place has been modernized a touch, but generally hasn’t changed.
While there, you can enjoy walking, cycling and bird watching in the nearby villages. You can also stop by the tea shops, cafes and restaurants in between activities. There’s no shortage of boutique hotels, spas and other things to treat yourself to during your stay.
If you’re a lover of the ocean and beaches you’re never far from the pier and its sandy escape near the sea. You can sip drinks in you beach hut before leaving for mini links or to see the windmill on Lytham Green which offers views across to Southport and beyond weather permitting.
If you’re a fan of golf Lytham St Annes is a perfect place to be. You’ll be in a place that’s internationally renowned for golf. It has four golf courses with the most notable of them being the Royal Lytham and St Annes Golf Club which is one of the host courses for the Open Championship.
If you time your visit for the tournament you’ll be there with other golf enthusiasts and that can make for nothing but an excellent holiday. There’s much more to this charming place, but I’ll leave that for you to discover during your visit.
If you need a ride to or from the airport or are just looking to get around the area without driving www.whitesidetaxis.co.uk has you covered. Check them out if you’re looking for quality service and a pleasant riding atmosphere.
When you to make it here just be sure to bring expectations of a good time and maybe even your golfing equipment. Til’ then, take care and we wish you good health and a safe trip. Cheers!
